Covid-19 Guidance


Blackfriars Theatre and Arts Centre are serious about keeping their building, staff, volunteers and audiences safe for the future and have implemented some big changes over the recent years.  

Including:-

  1. Upgraded Heating and Ventilation system in our auditorium and stage area to improve airflow. 
  2. Multiple Sanitation Stations around the building.
  3. We always have a rigorous cleaning program in place during show times.

How do my tickets work?

We recommend you purchase tickets in advance as e-tickets these can be sent to your email address whether booking online or in our Box Office.  You can then download the ticket onto your phone and show this to our front of house team upon arrival. Box Office is open Mon - Fri 10am - 1pm or Saturday 10am - 2pm. Physical tickets will only be issued if specifically requested otherwise all tickets are now electronic. 

Box Office will also be open on performance nights 1 hour before the show and unless the show is sold out tickets can be purchased on the door. 

Will I need a face covering? 

Following the current guidance, masks are nolonger compulsory in all Theatres including ours. Of course you are still welcome to wear one if you prefer.

What should I bring?

Please keep your belongings to a minimum and with you at all times. We do not have a cloakroom here at Blackfriars.

Will I be able to buy interval refreshments?

Yes, Box Office and Audrey's Bar will be open for all evening performances.

What are the social distancing rules?

All social distancing requirements have been dropped. However, we still recommend that you keep a respectful distance from other groups within our building where possible. Remember - Hands - Face - Space is still the safest option.  Please respect other peoples personal choices as we do not always know their personal circumstances. 

What happens if am ill and can’t use my ticket?

Please contact us directly ot discuss. However, our standard refund policy is that we do not refund money on returned tickets. If an event is sold out we will try to sell unwanted tickets. Tickets may be exchanged for another performance of the same production providing the tickets are returned to the theatre at least two working days before the performance they are valid for (subject to availability). A fee of £1 per ticket will be charged.
